Also - I live in Haslingden!!
Near the sports centre!
Small world.
#18: Re: North West Meet - Trafford Centre Manchester Author: drunknmunky, Location: Blackburn and CatterickPosted: Sat Apr 16, 2011 4:17 am ---- For everyone who may be interested in this we are looking at possibly moving the timing to later or earlier as i have been informed by someone that at this sort of time the traffic would be awful where as if it was made to be more like 4pm would be quite or say 8pm it would be quite but the time we have picked would just hit with peak time of traffic on the motorways so whatever is best with the majority we willl go with
#19: Re: North West Meet - Trafford Centre Manchester Author: macca1411, Location: Westhoughton, LancashirePosted: Sat Apr 16, 2011 4:24 am ---- I would do the later one. Need to organise somewhere on the car park to meet as it is vast, and so many entrances.
Is that halo thing still above Haslingden. Keep meaning to have a ride up to see it. How close can you get in a car?
#20: Re: North West Meet - Trafford Centre Manchester Author: drunknmunky, Location: Blackburn and CatterickPosted: Sat Apr 16, 2011 4:29 am ---- Good point about the car park will have a look at this and see if we can pick a certain section hopefully its not too full so that we can all park near each other dont want to be all parked all over the place
#21: Re: North West Meet - Trafford Centre Manchester Author: Matt, Posted: Sat Apr 16, 2011 4:59 am ---- You'd better off meeting near chillfactor and jib soccerdome. The car park there should be pretty empty. So everyone should be able to park next to each other. Then if needs be drive somewhere else (urmston retail park perhaps) if people want food?
#22: Re: North West Meet - Trafford Centre Manchester Author: macca1411, Location: Westhoughton, LancashirePosted: Sat Apr 16, 2011 5:22 am ---- Jct 9 entrance is usually dead. Car park goes all way to motorway.
Asda just behind Trafford Centre has a Mcds in and Krispy Kreme doughnuts is next to that. B and Q across road too. TBH Trafford Centre does get hammered until 10 at night. Chill Factor sounds a good idea.
Maybe if a few coming from East Lancs, Bury might be an idea sometime. Pilsworth Road area. Might be easier for Rochdale crew too.
Lake district cruise in the summer anyone?
I am trying to plan a meal at The Bell House (Parrs Wood) in East Didsbury. It's a 2 for 1 place with whats supposed to be Europes largest wacky warehouse attached, so good for all the family. Will discuss with reps and come up with something.
#23: Re: North West Meet - Trafford Centre Manchester Author: drunknmunky, Location: Blackburn and CatterickPosted: Sat Apr 16, 2011 5:32 am ---- Me and suicidal have had plans for a summer meet in blackpool if possibe a convoy along the seafront then park up somewhere and off onto the pier maybe even the pleasure beach and whatever else anyone fancys could be made into a big one if there is enough interest, also planned was a convoy through the lights when they switch them on blackpool illuminations convoy would be good.
These are just a few ideas me and suicidal have been playing with up to now but cant set anything in stone yet as we havent even had one meet and got to know people so were just going to take things slowly for now
Although we are the area reps we dont mind other people putting in so if like macca you have ideas or have been planning stuff then drop me or suicidal a pm or just pop your ideas into this thread and we will do our best to work with you guys and get many more meets going
#24: Re: North West Meet - Trafford Centre Manchester Author: Matt, Posted: Sat Apr 16, 2011 7:54 am ---- Usually do Blackpool when the lights are on.
#25: Re: North West Meet - Trafford Centre Manchester Author: Harry, Location: StaffordPosted: Sat Apr 16, 2011 8:27 am ---- I am interested it would be worth the journey, if it fits into my uni or work times I'm not sure though.

As pointed out there is a car park on the trafford centre that wont be busy you come off at junction 9 instead of 8 as 8 is the junction thats always busy, which you would still use to get to the chill factor.
As for time i think we should have it at 7pm then its not too late should still be light to get some good pictures and the traffic should have died down by then. We should also stay in the one spot for an hour to allow everyone to arrive just for incase
