#1: 206 Speakers? (Pictures inside!) Author: Krispy101, Location: Skegness PostPosted: Sat Apr 16, 2011 9:00 am

Hello guys,

I've just purchased a Y-reg 206 1.4 GLX and the speakers are appalling!

I proceeded to remove the doorcard and take out the speaker and was greeted by a little Goodmans speaker with the following connection:

There was what looked to be like some tweeter grilles in the front, and underneath I saw:

Now, under my infinite wisdom (Sarcasm is hard to portray over the internet!) I ordered a pair of http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/jvc-drvn-csv527.html However, now I think about it, these were probably the wrong speakers. Will these fit or should I cancel the order and get some different ones?

Thanks in anticipation,
Kris

I think it 16cm speakers at the front, with a 1/4 or 1/2 inch tweeter. For the backs I think it needs to be a 13cm speaker in a 3 door. Have a look in the ice section in the forums

I've seen the sticky in the ICE section ukskater, I was more referring to the fact that do the speakers want to be coax or component?

They are speakers at the end of the day, they will fit fine in that sort of way.

better off using coax for the rears.

Ah sorry mate, IMO components would sound better as the seperate tweeters will be nearer your ears, they should fit fine though with the right adapter ring as the speakers you've bought aren't the right size for the front, they should fit perfectly in the rear though

Coax = cheaper, not great sound quality
Component = more expensive, much better sound quality

Very few people put components in the rear but the coax that you ordered are 13cm so should fit the rear Razz

Excellent! Thanks again for the replies! I've re-ordered some of the same type of speakers, but a larger size to fit in the front then I'm away!

The speakers will need rewiring as the plug wont fit unless you get some ebay adapters
