Right, little update on the car...

It has been decided (not by me!) that the electrics are too difficult to carry out the conversion on a road car, and for that reason, I am selling all the parts and even the car itself. To say this is quite a shock is an understatement. I had been so looking forward to having the 'bodies done that to have it back as it was is probably the biggest anti climax I've ever experienced!

Anything and everything is available, and I will be putting a detailed "For Sale" thread with everything in it so no need to post in this thread.

Here is the Pistonheads advert, as it is currently, the price is negotiable, so don't be scared to make an offer Smile

Such as shame to see you having to sell it mate but regardless of the bodies the cars had quite a big transformation for what it was when you originally bought it.

What are you looking to get next..?

I'm looking at getting a Focus ST next Uz. Either that or something similar, more refined than the current car!
In a way it has done me a favour, I needed to step back and question whether spending £5k on modifying a 206 at the age of 20 was sane!

Good luck with the sale.

However, wouldn't it be cheaper to turbo charge it? From the money you get from selling and whatever you had planned to spend on the engine, would you be able to get something better in the form of another car? eg you buy a Focus ST, you'd then need to spend tons getting everything up to the spec the 180 was at...

In regards to spending £5k modding your 206, it's a hobby isn't it, some people spend their money on fashion/drugs/alcohol/cameras, you spend your money on cars Smile

I'm 20 as well, if I were you I'd stick with the 206, I know I've got a dozen other things to spend my cash on other than my car. I'm looking to upgrade power wise in about 2 years once I have a full time job, be it by turbo charging my 206 or buying another car and starting again.

I am stunned..... this is probably one of the easiest wiring looms to do. I think the VVT has beaten them here.
Are you sure you dont want to super charge it before you sell it.... I have the prototype bracket now which fits mine so shouls be a case of a small mod to yours..... I am mortified

I understand why Sandy might not want to tackle the car especially if the way the multiplexing works is an unknown - with him being left with the problem...
How big a job would it be to strip out the multiplex stuff? The climate control and clocks might need to be swopped for pre -plexed bits and swop the loom...in fact I've decided it would be a big job because no dount it extends to the ABS/ESP systems etc...

What difference would the supercharging make? Surely the same problems would exist with that route?
