#1: Brother locked out of his 206 Author: MattyP, Location: PlymouthPosted: Sun Apr 17, 2011 4:54 am ---- Due to my brothers xsi being off the road at the mo he has to start it now and again, anyway went down last week to start it and the battery is completely dead, the main problem is he cannot get into the car to jump start it because he has no door locks due to it being broken into a few years back, anybody recommend a way of gaining access to the car or popping the bonnet without causing any damage?

Edit: I'll be slightly more helpful. Is it a 3 door or 5? Pre-lexed or Plexed? If its a 3 dor preplexed with no alarm then just break the rear glass and through the window? Will cost no more than £10/15 from a scrappy. (That is an extreme method) however feel it may be one of your only options.

I dont know why people bother removing the door locks as it doesnt make a 206 any more secure

Depends what tools you have access to
With the proper lock out tools they are easy to open

Trim removal tool with a hook on also works, and they are generally slightly bigger and flat.
You can get your hand into to the wire to pop the bonnet too

lol. didnt have a coat hanger but i did have an extra long tent peg

EDIT: Oh and as a preventative measure, you can buy this thing that charges the battery via solar power. I used to have one that plugged Ito the cigarette lighter, don't know if it worked or not but I vaguely remember it did. Im sure there are better devices out there now as this was like 10 years ago

Once bonnets open run two wire from Batt (just little ones) tuck them Behind bumper, if it goes flat again can untuck the wires put a batt on them and will give you just enoth power for the locks to work and get bonnet open,
