#1: 180 abs/esp help Author: Andy180, Location: Stoke on TrentPosted: Wed Apr 20, 2011 12:12 pm ---- Basically my abs and esp was playing up over the xmas period the usually abs and esp lights flashing then in january the red stop light started to flash and i lost all abs function, ive replaced both abs rings as they were cracked which didnt solve the problem i then discovered the idiot who last worked on my car hadn't hooked the abs sensor up correctly and it had been rubbing on the driveshaft and frayed right through the wire, so i went and got another sensor which got rid of the red stop light and the esp light but the abs light remained on .
I had the gar plugged in and diagnosed today and it came up with abs speed sensor open circuit low voltage and another low voltage fault i had these cleared but they came straight back on when i drove the car, has anybody got any ideas as to what i should do to cure this problem. sorry for the essay but its really starting to annoy me now lol .

I good diagnostic machine will pinpoint the exact sensor.
#11: Re: 180 abs/esp help Author: Andy180, Location: Stoke on TrentPosted: Wed Apr 20, 2011 3:53 pm ---- would a faulty sensor make the abs pack up all together though ?
#12: Re: 180 abs/esp help Author: mattymj, Location: NorfolkPosted: Wed Apr 20, 2011 3:57 pm ---- If the lights are on the dash and the centre consol announces a problem then i guess the system can shut down!!!
#13: Re: 180 abs/esp help Author: Andy180, Location: Stoke on TrentPosted: Wed Apr 20, 2011 3:59 pm ---- Hmmm suppose it could i hope its not a sensor as ive already replaced one

#15: Re: 180 abs/esp help Author: Andy180, Location: Stoke on TrentPosted: Thu Apr 21, 2011 1:44 pm ---- It wasn't a blown fuse its looking like it could be 1 or both of the rear sensors, are there abs rings on the rear or is that just the front ?
