Sam-c had similar problems but he got his checked at a garage which turned out to be bsi, id be tempted just to take it to a garage for them to look at it Last edited by Razpulsedj on Thu Apr 21, 2011 6:36 am; edited 1 time in total

#4: Re: Jord: Couple of problems... help please Author: tomd0801754, Location: MoscowPosted: Thu Apr 21, 2011 6:43 am ---- Fan is likely to be a corroded wire.
#5: Re: Jord: Couple of problems... help please Author: MrZiggerz, Location: Milton KeynesPosted: Thu Apr 21, 2011 6:44 am ---- My cables to the green relay were green dust Probably that.
The LED's, could just be the wiring, maybe something touching?

#8: Re: Jord: Couple of problems... help please Author: Ali_H, Location: Chichester, SussexPosted: Thu Apr 21, 2011 7:00 am ---- The lights could be a poor earth or a faulty loom, I had it on a set once. Could be damp or something, I just replaced the loom and they were fine.
#9: Re: Jord: Couple of problems... help please Author: Addaz, Location: SuffolkPosted: Thu Apr 21, 2011 7:04 am ---- Poor earth
Or wrong bulbs
#10: Re: Jord: Couple of problems... help please Author: JordGJ, Location: Leeds / West MidlandsPosted: Thu Apr 21, 2011 7:40 am ---- where are the fuse(s) and relay(s) for the fan then?
#11: Re: Jord: Couple of problems... help please Author: Addaz, Location: SuffolkPosted: Thu Apr 21, 2011 7:41 am ---- Do you have aircon is a start?
If not its not the relays
#12: Re: Jord: Couple of problems... help please Author: tomd0801754, Location: MoscowPosted: Thu Apr 21, 2011 7:42 am ---- IIRC Its a bumper off job.. If your looking at the fan housing from the front its the bottom left cover. (You will knwo what I am on about when your looking at it..

Its only if he has aircon mate
Otherwise its not that at fault
(non aircon have different fan setups)
#14: Re: Jord: Couple of problems... help please Author: JordGJ, Location: Leeds / West MidlandsPosted: Thu Apr 21, 2011 7:45 am ---- no i don't have aircon

Does it span about three quaters of the front, or only half?

not completely sure will look later but i would guess that its the smaller one being a pretty low spec 1.1?
#20: Re: Jord: Couple of problems... help please Author: Addaz, Location: SuffolkPosted: Thu Apr 21, 2011 7:54 am ---- Yeh, you will probs have smaller one
I dont quite know tbh then mate, check the fuses, see if the fan is connected
Find the fuse that operates the fan, put i live down the one that goes to the fan, does it turn on?
If not, its the fan/wire to fan
If it does, fuse or sensor

yeah i thought the same as you there... where are the fuses for the fan though i can't see any that are gone in the box under the bonnet or under the steering wheel?

1. My LED rear lights have gone mental, the passenger side is fine but the drivers side does strange things; sidelights and braking are fine, that works normal but then the problems start. When i indicate/put hazards on the amber light flashes very dim and the main red led part also starts to flash! (don't understand that )... the reversing light is very dim compared to the passenger side... i've tried unplugging them and making sure they are all connected properly... i will try bulbs later but doesn't seem like its a bulb... any ideas?
Earthing problem, or a loose connector
2. My electric fan won't kick in... i know this has been asked before but it's annoying me now so would like some advice lol; had the sensor tested and that is fine apparently (well it changes the temperature on the gauge at least), the fan itself is not seized either. Could it be a fuse/relay? if so could someone tell me where i would find them (51' preplexed 1.1) because i cant understand most fuse/wiring diagrams If you have AC, turn that on to see if it works. If not, then it more than likely will be the relay or a corroded wire.
Thanks, Jord

IIRC its a big one on the wall closest to you, not wing or battery side, or strut side
But headlight side, follow the wire to see if im correct
If i am, give it a live from battery, does it work?
#24: Re: Jord: Couple of problems... help please Author: tofy92, Location: potters barPosted: Thu Apr 21, 2011 9:19 am ---- i had same issue with rear ldrivers light turned out it was just a loose wire in the connector block for the lights
