Hi,

I know this is reviving an old topic now but this has been left until now where it is getting worse. The problem only seems to be when it has been used for a while and a mate has read the ECU which is showing no faults. However it is showing the throttle pedal at around 12% when the engine isn't even turned on and only goes up to 80% when pressed all the way down. My mate is saying it is probably the throttle pedal at fault as the ECU is thinking you have your foot on the pedal so isn't starting the engine. Does this sound like it could be right? Also, we have found some new parts on ebay with the part number 1601 - V8 but we don't know if this is the right part (around £25) we have had a look on the pedal itself and it just looks like its 3 bolts and a cable attachment but we can't see any numbers that corresponds to that on ebay... If anyone can help with getting a part number I could probably get one ordered and get someone to fit it, just need to verify the part number. Car is a 207, 57 plate, 1.4 urban (petrol)

Thanks..

Part number 1601 V8 is the correct pedal for your 207.

I think you might find this is actually normal..
I looked into this on our '07 206 with electric pedal and had the same exact figures.

We get the ocassional flubber at start-up if it hasn't been used for a couple of days. Like the revs (and needle) drops to almost zero and then picks-up and runs normaly after that. All this without pressing the pedal.

Let me know how you get on.

I also have an electric pedal for a UK (RHD) 207 if you want for the price of postage.

Cheers.

Hi,

Hmm strange, this is when it's just been used.. Anyone else confirm that these readings should be like that? Thanks for the pedal offer but have already got one on order now.

Yeh I asked the same back then, only macj answered and seemed to think they were normal.

Ok the part has now arrived (though the sticker on the part says xx.xx.06 and the one currently on says xx.xx.07 - does this make a difference?) and I was going to get someone to fit, however looking at it, it looks pretty simple to fit? 3 bolts to unscrew and one electric plug to plug in? Anyone know if its more difficult than it looks?
Thanks again.

Most likely find that will be the date the part was made.

Yeah thanks for that. You know anything about fitting it?

I would reset the BSi once fitted.

Infact you might as well dis-connect the battery before carrying-out the work in that case.

Make sure you shut-down/boot-up properly though..

And let us know esp. what readings you get afterward.
