Firstly I would like to wish you all a happy Easter, I wish mine was a happy one
I have a 2000 206 1.9 diesel style,
Its been a great little car until this morning
My problem started with my key fob ( single Button ) having no light on when I went to open the car this morning,
I had a replacement battery which I have fitted, Now I can not open the doors or start the engine with the key. Opening doors manualy no problem car turns over but will not fire, I hear a clicking sound for anout 5 secs coming from the fuel pump area when I turn the key to start the car ??
I have used the search facitlity and found several posts similar to mine I have tried all the methods to resynch the fob to the car but to no avial
I have also read about the transponder moving or being lost from the fob when replacing battery and not working ??
I have included an image of my fob internals to see if that is the case ??

The image link is shortened so if you can not see it please try ge.tt/36jTL07 to view
As I can appreciate this is easter weekend and a lot of the regular users from here will be away, As we should have been I have 1 very upset wife today
Any help would be much appreciated
If any more info is required please post
I apologise if this has been covered before but i just need to be sure 1 way or another regarding the transponder issue
Thanks for reading and I hope your easter break is going well

The transponder chip is normally clipped inside the fob body near the key blade, it is NOT part of the remote circuit board Wink

Sounds right.

Follow the main battery - lead down to the top of the gearbox & check it hasnt snapped, give it a tug as they can look perfect but be broken, common problem .

If that lead is ok check the battery connections & the battery condition.

I have just chaecked the lead down to the gear box and all seems fine
The battery on the car is as good as new, Tried a jump start from a new VW this morning also it seems more like an issue with the fob as I siad in my earlier post I cant use central locking to unlock the car anymore
I have tried this method
CENTRAL DOOR LOCK (1 BUTTON PLIP KEY)

1. Ensure all the doors are unlocked using the key.

2. Press and hold the plip key button until the LED stops flashing.

3. After releasing the button, the LED will light constantly.

4. Press the Plip Button once, and the LED will extinguish.

5. Open the door and hold the Plip key near the Ignition switch, and press the plip button one time.

6. Turn the ignition ON, and wait 10 seconds, then turn ignition OFF.

7. After 5 seconds the Plip should now operate.

But this doesnt work is There any other method to do this and also there is the clicking noise when I turn the key to the mark after A, heater plugs light goes out, Car then turns over great, but will not fire ???

The non working plip WONT stop the car starting.

Turn the ignition OFF & with the key still in the ignition open the drivers door, do you hear any beeping?

The transponder aerial is around the end of the ignition barrel.

Check the conection, try disconnecting / reconnecting it.
