take the engine cover off
unscrew the 3 bolts securing the coilpack down (black plastic thing in the centre of the block)
pull the coilpack out carefully so you dont damage any connections
unscrew the plugs with a suitable socket
replace with new ones (bosch super 4's, NOT NGK)
reverse the procedure
simples

Really easy, but I would recommend plugging the wiring connection on the right end and then you can take the coil pack unit right out.
the old plugs were a but tight ... but they were old. Peugeot original parts! Although they were a nice colour (in terms on engine use). Don't know if these had been changed before but the cars on nearly 56000 now.
Replaced them with Super 4's ... a bit of copperslip on the threads to help stop them sticking.
Changed the airfilter as well.
Started first time.
I would have changed the oil but I forgot to buy a new sump plug washer!

#10: Re: how to change gti138 spark plugs with pics Author: Seb, Location: Under your bedPosted: Wed May 11, 2011 10:15 am ---- Rocker off (black plastic locks - turn them so the line is horizontal)
Coil pack out (Disconnect on the right hand side - 3x 8mm bolts on top need removing)
Take old sparks out using 10mm Spark Plug remover (Note: this is NOT a standard 10mm fitting), put new ones in with copper grease or engine oil on thread
Do it back up again.
Finish!

#12: Re: how to change gti138 spark plugs with pics Author: Seb, Location: Under your bedPosted: Wed May 11, 2011 4:34 pm ---- Not much point conforming to tight tolerances when these cars are half falling apart in the first place

Most new plugs, especially the multiple electrode type, come preset and can't be change that easily.
Torquing is a must, especially in alloy heads .. I also smear a thin layer of copperslip on the threads to stop them sticking too easily.
