I did have a mechanic once whom wanted to put in NGK spark plugs in my old Pug 306 XSi 2ltr!!!

Depends what type of coil / engine it was
If it was the old 8 valve lump with coil on the end of block & HT leads then NGK would have been ok.

Yep your right. Engine was 2ltr 8v on the 306 XSi - P reg. Quite a good engine though. That Pug lasted a while. I even managed to sell it on for £500. To one very happy guy.
