How old is old. My 206 GTi Pug is a 2001 Y reg, March 2001 registered in UK.
I always wanted a flip key fob. Am sure the inside gubbins might just fit in a new flip key, with albeit of persuasion and mucking around with it.

Surely Yes...!

If your key doesn't have 2 offset round buttons, it won't fit.

MMm, I asked before...I remember now re: flip / fob keys. I have 2 round off set buttons on key fob, but its old style 1 smaller and 1 larger. So am guessing its a NO. Dratt.

Ok Guy's,

I think I found a folding key fob that's going work on 206's...

If your key looks like this, then yes

If it looks like this, no

You might be able to lose the central locking if you really wanted a flip key by moving the transponder chip over and getting just a blade cut but someone else can confirm this...
