#3: Re: Crankshaft Pulley 2.0 Hdi Author: Seabook, Posted: Tue May 03, 2011 2:12 am ---- if you got the new pully then it won't be at fault again
#4: Re: Crankshaft Pulley 2.0 Hdi Author: spud_owen, Location: ashby de la zouchPosted: Tue May 03, 2011 3:08 am ---- youd be suprised how quickly they go replaced mine at start of jan, and it had gone by start of april, proper pug bits would be better though so by pug if your doing it, if you get under the car and have alook at it you can tell weather is gone as it wont be sitting correct and there will be some wear marks on it
#5: Re: Crankshaft Pulley 2.0 Hdi Author: skard, Location: UK - NorthPosted: Tue May 03, 2011 4:59 am ---- had a similar noise recently, mainly on idle.
after replacing the crank pulley, belt and aux tensioner, it turned out to be my alternator pulley or internal bearing on it causing the noise.
i just got a new uprated alternator (with a clutch pulley instead of fixed pulley) and it went away.
#6: Re: Crankshaft Pulley 2.0 Hdi Author: eddrj, Location: BerkshirePosted: Tue May 03, 2011 8:56 am ---- ok thanks for repies , i heard they go quickly too ive had mine done twice but do loadsa milliage , it did the trick last time noise went , also what damage can it do ?
il get my mechanic to do it asap for peace of mind .
Its the common fault with the 2.0 Hdi heard it too many times just wasnt sure how long they meana last and
i had the better more expensive newer pulley because there's a few older cheaper one not meant to last for as long.
No havent checked other pulleys yet just thought it probably be bottom pulley .
#7: Re: Crankshaft Pulley 2.0 Hdi Author: MrBSI, Location: What's it to you? ? ?Posted: Tue May 03, 2011 10:35 am ---- Remember:
Buy a NEW GENUINE part from your Peugeot / Citroen main dealer, the pulley has been modified
Fit the modified pulley & it should be fine for the rest of the life of the car.

Never heard or seen the eibach pulley how much is it ?

Mabey its just because its a old diesel with very very high milliage ?
#11: Re: Crankshaft Pulley 2.0 Hdi Author: Lee, Location: EnglandPosted: Tue May 03, 2011 12:32 pm ---- Bought it thru the local motor factors, paid about £60. Had the original and then the Eibach one. My car is about the same age as yours

#13: Re: Crankshaft Pulley 2.0 Hdi Author: Seabook, Posted: Tue May 03, 2011 1:05 pm ---- if you get the measurment of the pulley you can have even more choices, light weight alloy one do looks good.
#14: Re: Crankshaft Pulley 2.0 Hdi Author: eddrj, Location: BerkshirePosted: Tue May 17, 2011 1:46 pm ---- got it all done for bout £130 total ,
tapping noise is still there sometimes il just live with it .
