1) nearside w/screen wiper does not clear the w/screen effectively [8.2.2]
2) offside w/screen wiper does not clear the w/screen effectively [8.2.2]
3) w/screen washer provides insufficient washer [8.2.3]
4) nearside headlamp not working on dipped beam [1.7.4a]
5) nearside side repeater not working [1.4.A.2c]
6) offside rear parking brake recording little or no effort [3.7.A.7a]
7) nearside front anti-roll bar linkage has excessive play in a ball joint [2.4.G.3] parking brake efficiency below requirements [3.7.A.10]
brake failure: RBT park brake efficiency 8%
my interpretation
1) new wiper blade
2) as above
3) ???
4) new bulb
5) new bulb
6) new handbrake cable
7) new n's drop link new handbrake cable
if any of that is wrong can somebody help me out..been quoted £120 to get it all sorted but if it's only what i think it is i could do it for a lot less than that i imagine.
if this can be done without too much expense it might keep me from selling the car for another year or so. cheers

6) could be it either needs adjusted up or as simple as the shoes have glazed over
and eight is just a validation of 6 so there only a few things to sort really

3) probably the no water in the tank to be honest, mot was a bit of a rush job so didn't have time to get it fully prepared.
what are the shoes in terms of the handbrake..i tightened it up myself the other day but it's already starting to come loose again so think it may have reached the end of it's life.

the shoes are inside the drum so it would need removed ( if they are drum axles)
also what did you tighten up?

I agree with that! did you not look at the car and test the basic things before hand?
I would say you could do most of it and only get the garage to do the handbrake and drop link at a cost of £50 probably, + the retest fee if you have to pay it!

Having no washer fluid is actually a moving traffic offence, for which you could be fined. You even risk loosing the car as it could be classed as being in an unroadworthy condition.
Does nobody do weekly checks anymore? fluids, bulbs, wipers, tyres. It takes 5 minutes and can save you loads of hassle.
I haven't done a modern driving test, but I thought this was part of the test nowadays. Seems like for some people it might be "I have my licence, now I won't bother remembering how I got it". Is it any wonder we have so many lunatics on the roads!

I taught my son the pitfalls of not doing the weeklys when he got his first car and he still does them 6 years later. Play-station generation eh !!

i think the attitude has changed slightly because modern cars dont require such constant checking, with services being frequent fluids are topped up then etc. im not agreeing with people not checking their levels and leaving it all to the service folk, but it does happen more and more.
some people see a car as an object which they get in and use untill it goes wrong, then it goes to the garage and gets fixed
