Hey all,

Anyone rate those tuning boxes you see advertised on fleabay? Up around the £70-£100 mark. ??

Read around on the forums and on other cars there's mixed reviews.

Has anyone got one? Or better even, tried it on a 1.4hdi 206? I've looked into remapping but just a case of £250+

Just trying to get a little more poke out of the thing.

Cheers

IF they work they're a good temporary solution but you could just save up for a remap then you're £70 closer to affording it

generally they are pretty crude. they may give u an extra few hp but they achieve it in ways such as tricking sensors etc to make the fuel mixture richer. tbh mate they are best avoided. worst case scenario is that they can totally bugger the ecu and u would have no one to fall back on to get it fixed Razz

Save for a remap, as said above most of these boxes just make the car pump more fuel in but there are not clever enough to tell the ecu the right air/fuel ratio. A proper remap can give good reliable gains on turbo engines.

Different engine but I had 1.9 130 bhp diesel pushing 180bhp and 300ft/lb of torque reliably for almost a year reliably just from a remap and a 'Green' panel filter until I binned it.
