#1: 180 flywheel Author: Dan-, Location: BiggleswadePosted: Thu May 12, 2011 9:31 am ---- Car Is in garage getting a new clutch today to stop judder, garage phoned me to tell me my flywheel is warped and a new clutch will be pointless because the 1 in there has only done a fee thousand miles, they quoted me a new flywheel for £500 is there anything else I can do rather than just replace it
Thanks dan

#3: Re: 180 flywheel Author: MrrNoName, Location: UKPosted: Thu May 12, 2011 9:38 am ---- yup sorry dude, if the flywheels warped thats whats causing the judder, there's no point getting a new clutch unless you get it fixed
#4: Re: 180 flywheel Author: Dan-, Location: BiggleswadePosted: Thu May 12, 2011 9:55 am ---- Just Bern looking on pug1off and they do a lightened flywheel for £325 my question is, can I use 1 with s standard clutch, because there half the price pug want ?
#5: Re: 180 flywheel Author: Seb, Location: Under your bedPosted: Thu May 12, 2011 9:57 am ---- Just call pug1off and ask them matey, see what they say.
#6: Re: 180 flywheel Author: NICKST, Location: Little hulton (worsley)Posted: Thu May 12, 2011 10:20 am ---- U can also get it skimmed had mine done £50.

is that the reason why it get damage that easily?
#10: Re: 180 flywheel Author: Dan-, Location: BiggleswadePosted: Thu May 12, 2011 10:40 am ---- Pug1off says it'll fit straigh on with a standard clutch, so I may go for that 1, the garage don't really wanna for a skimmed 1 for some reason "/ phoned pug again and they can do the flywheel for £460, which 1 will be better standard or pug1off version
Cheers
#11: Re: 180 flywheel Author: Seabook, Posted: Thu May 12, 2011 11:16 am ---- depends on how light and the craftmanship of the flywheel
#12: Re: 180 flywheel Author: Schumi, Location: Istanbul / TurkeyPosted: Thu May 12, 2011 12:34 pm ---- I only seen one light flywheel for 206gti/gti180. But there is from Japane. Yeah you heard that. Japane. Red Dot Racing IIRC.
What is pug1off offer. Second hand flywheel with custom work or complete new from cnc?

This is a very good question is it brand new or old unit been machined???
I would just go with the standed one as its good as it is but just as seabook has said how light do you wont it?? it will rev faster with lighter but lose torque higher up rev range so i just go standed.
There nufin wrong with skimming flywheels as they only take a little bit off to make it flat which will do no harm at all, as long it dont have any hair line cracks in it.
Mine has slight judder coming and i will be skimming mine

If you want the technical description the inerta of the rotating mass keeps the car smooth on tickover
If the flywheel is lightened too much it may be noticeable if you wanted to sell the car in the future etc.
On the plus side it does give a slight performance gain
#15: Re: 180 flywheel Author: imjeeves, Location: Glasgow / WellingPosted: Thu May 12, 2011 3:05 pm ---- What is the judder that people talk about? My 180 road car when you pull away sometimes feels like there is movement but i cant tell if it is this or possibly just knackered drop links?
