it will rev faster with lighter but lose torque higher up rev range so i just go standed.

It will pick up revs faster but it won't lose torque at any revs. It doesn't make any difference to power outputs.

I disagree with that from what iv seen

Torque is simply force with a rotational component, for simplicity's sake let's ignore the rotational component for the moment. Force = Mass(M) Acceleration(A) so if you decrease M (mass) and leave A (acceleration)constant then you would lose torque, but a lightened flywheel will accelerate faster than the stock unit so if you should see the same amount of torque.

Where am on about loose torque i mean with a lightened flywheel it has less momentum than the stock unit so it can "transfer" less torque to the drive train in the moment when the clutch engages the flywheel. So you have to give an engine with a lightened flywheel more revs to prevent it from bogging as you let the clutch out than you would an engine with a stock flywheel.

pug1off versions supposed to be machined from solid chunk of steel (billet) and not cast metal... The question (for me) is how hard is it for this flywheel to get 'warped' and start causing vibrations like the standard one I've had in my GTi180 since 2005...

While you boys are busy talking about torque and wotnot... might I suggest that we spitball some ideas as to how the flywheel warped in the first place such that its doesnt happen again??

A flywheel doesn't "just warp"...

With good OEM clutches, regular servicing of said item and someone who knows how to drive... it shouldn't happen.

Good point!..

Indeed a flywheel doesn't just 'warp' but the ones in our GTi 180s are not really designed to last more than our OEM clutches and -for example- parking every day on a highly sloped road in reverse (like I've had to do for the past 8 years) can be quite a 'torture' both for the clutch plate and the flywheel, even though one tries to keep the rpm low enough and the entire process quick enough. If you replace just the clutch when the time comes but leave the same flywheel, it may not be such a wise option (of course that's open for discussion)...

to a point i will agree but looking at the number of 180's that have this problem i would say that there is a fault with the OEM design.

My guess is that it's a normal, cast steel flywheel which has been on a diet (to a point) and that the material used is nothing special.

Me and my friend will bought 3 set of light steel flywheel from TTV Racing.

Does a warped flywheel make any noise or vibrations that you fel inte the pedal. Does it mather if the clutch is pressed or not?
