hi chap

ive got a shagged mount but not sure where it is. i sometimes have a loud bang when starting car.

i think its one of these mounts, but not sure what they are meant to look like, so its hard to know which if any is shagged.

pics of all 3 in this area.

if i grab the main bracket i can move it, but not loads?
it also looks ok, well no cracks that i can see

the square on at back looks weird, it looks to have a piece of fabric on it, the bush its self is quite soft?

now the front one looks weird too, there's a 4-5mm gap between bush and metal? also the bracket has a weird shiny bit of metal on it, which shows the end of the bush, why i dont know. the end of the bush is black and white flecked

also what size nut do i need to undo on these barstard, must be a long socket thou lol

so any ideas which is gone?
thanks peeps

The mounts do move, that's why the diesel engine doesn't sound too round inside the car!

Don't forget there are three mounts and you've just got one pictured. Could it have come loose, there's only one way to find out and that's to strip it down and check if it's tight or not.

You need a chain type oil filter tool to tighten it.
