#3: Re: car juddering uphill only Author: Seabook, Posted: Tue May 17, 2011 4:29 pm ---- shift to 2nd gear?
#4: Re: car juddering uphill only Author: Lewis1592, Location: Aberdeen, ScotlandPosted: Tue May 17, 2011 4:32 pm ---- shift to 2nd gear..the car happens to curise quite well at 1800 rpm in 4th. usually kicking around 2100 when uphill. its not a like..massive hill, just a long gradual. but it was doing it uphill...on all hills. never happened before...

#6: Re: car juddering uphill only Author: Lewis1592, Location: Aberdeen, ScotlandPosted: Tue May 17, 2011 4:36 pm ---- yeah..all the rampaging french ponies just jumped the fence over night
#7: Re: car juddering uphill only Author: Norvvv, Location: WiltshirePosted: Tue May 17, 2011 4:40 pm ---- Seriously I have the same car as you, you needed second gear. You probably always put too much strain on your engine by doing it in 4th and you've f****d it.
#8: Re: car juddering uphill only Author: Seabook, Posted: Tue May 17, 2011 4:41 pm ---- people need to learn how to use gear.
run around with unnessarily low gear will do no good to mpg as well as the engine.

Fine, your Gearbox/Clutch isnt what it used to be.
#10: Re: car juddering uphill only Author: Lewis1592, Location: Aberdeen, ScotlandPosted: Tue May 17, 2011 4:46 pm ---- well ive never needed 2nd for this particular hill. i drive it 5 days a week. and the judderin starts halfway up the hill! so i doubt its a case of bad driving. if it was the wrong gear the revs would be struggling no...and i dont have to move my foot at all on the accelerator.
#11: Re: car juddering uphill only Author: roberto.f, Location: Coventry/ManchesterPosted: Tue May 17, 2011 4:54 pm ---- If it's something that's just happened, I'd be inclined to get it read by diagnostic equipment - whether a light appears on the dash, or not.
#12: Re: car juddering uphill only Author: Jordan_xsi, Location: IpswichPosted: Tue May 17, 2011 4:58 pm ---- As above if your in doubt get a diagnostic done but honestly before doing that go back to said hill and try it in 2nd and see how you get on!
#13: Re: car juddering uphill only Author: MrrNoName, Location: UKPosted: Wed May 18, 2011 12:51 am ---- i can do 30mph in 4th with no problems at all? about 2krpm, shifting to second is a bit excessive i say

. Up a hill? If climbing a steep hill it's 2nd for me ( sometimes even 1st if extremely steep)
