#1: Stone chips Author: europug, Location: londonPosted: Thu May 19, 2011 4:06 am ---- Im fed up of stone chips lol n fed up of using my bonnet bra, i have seen sum euro cars wit a blue film or tape across the front was told it came from 3m, i rang them n they n looked on there website n im un sure wot to get, any ideas or wot else i can use

I think its called paint protective film or something, there's not many places ive come across that do it though but im sure somewhere could order it in for you.

try cling film with the edges taped down by the 3m stuff. aslong as it isnt a huge journey!

A guy I know from uni got his car covered in cling film as a joke and when he removed it the next day, it took a load of paint with it

Hence the short journey ref in my post im not suggesting leaving it on there i mean if you at a hotel by the show ground literally 2 mins away.
then you can use it aslong as there is a good LSP on there so it doesnt bond to the paint surface.

I might order some wider 3m tape and a few brushes or something...damnit!

you can use a diluted citrus wash spray on leave rub with mirco fibre to remove flys then a bit of QD that would be ample!

When she removed it after a year or so the paint was perfect, but I know it wasn't cheap.

It'll be well waxed mind you but still, I'm pretty sur several flies hitting the front of my car for 6 hours is going to go some way to reduce the protective properties of the wax. It'll save quite a bit of time too. I might just go with the 3m tape.
