This is for a 2007 pug.

It won't get the key into the dreaded sync procedure holding it down will it?

Pretty sure the key has to be in the ignition and turned 1 click to do that.

Not on my single-button old style one.

Nope. But its for a 2007 with deadlocking solenoid locks by the looks of them.

In the handbook, it says that you press the lock button once and it dead locks it. If you press it the second time within 5 seconds, it disables the deadlock. (This is on the new key type)
It also works the same way if locking by key in the door.
On older 2 button type keys, you press the pug logo button to lock, then the smaller button to deadlock.
