Put the nuts back on a couple of turns to protect the studs then smack them with a little hammer to free the light.

I just used a pair of pliers, put the nose up against the bolt, then used the lip with the rubber seal on it as leverage. Just push down on the handle of the pliers and the light comes right out

Depends if it's stuck / seized it's going to be different for everyone. Even after removing the tailgate a few that I've taken off put up a right fight.

Nah, my first one was bloody impossible. Just used the pliers. The amount of leverage you can get will pop even the most solid of lights out.
