#3: Re: My Cars a write off Author: Harry, Location: StaffordPosted: Sun May 29, 2011 11:53 am ---- Sorry to hear Is it just the panel that's damaged? New rear quarter could be fitted without it being a write off imo.
#4: Re: My Cars a write off Author: Lewis, Location: Isle Of WightPosted: Sun May 29, 2011 11:56 am ---- You cant fit a new rear quarter, its connected to the car...
#5: Re: My Cars a write off Author: leigh_boy, Location: EastbournePosted: Sun May 29, 2011 11:56 am ---- rear pannel, drivers door, has shifted the tank as well. ye its fixable but the cost of the wing, the paint, the door and the labour becuase you have to cut the wing out, then remove the interior to weld the new 1 in. its going to be a write off. my gf and her old man work at a car body shiop price is in excess of 1k but there not doing the work. some 1 else will be when it gets picked up.

Fair enough, all depends what the car is and what's worth but if it was worth a few K it would be definately be repairable.
If you want it to be a write off then look on the bright side
#10: Re: My Cars a write off Author: leigh_boy, Location: EastbournePosted: Sun May 29, 2011 12:02 pm ---- 1999 , GTi 138 , 117K Miles
i paid 270 for it
book price is only 800 ish to 1800. tthe repair would cost more then 3/4 of the value of the car
#11: Re: My Cars a write off Author: Harry, Location: StaffordPosted: Sun May 29, 2011 12:03 pm ---- Sod that then yeah too high mileage isn't worth it. What are you thinking of next?

#16: Re: My Cars a write off Author: Surfer333, Location: Cardiff, WalesPosted: Sun May 29, 2011 12:09 pm ---- I have been checking out Renault 197 Cup on 2008 and 09 plates. This seems like an AOK car. Pretty quick, good interior, good sports suspension. But I might miss the 206 GTi just that lil bit. lol
Perhaps best to look on bright side...your Ok and not hurt/injured. Car's are metal can be fixed, written off and replaced. We can't be!

Mmm, get some Physio ;-). Sorry to hear that.
Hey dunno about the 182's but the 197 Cup has had some ok and in parts good reviews.
Just that my 206 GTi is a 2001 year, 96K on clock. Other than that its in good condition. And I have replaced and serviced looked after it. Never broken down on me, and its good to drive. Yet I fancy a change of car soon, like in a few months time.

yes you can fit a new rear quarter, glass needs removing, rear bumper and tailgate, and then all around the edges of the quarter panel the spot welds need drilling out, then a new rear quarter panel bonded and spot welded into place

RE clio, make sure you test drive it for at leaset an hour and not 15 mins like i did. i and take it round town and open road. becuase i found stop staring traffic, a night mare and the clutch was either on or off and the temp of the engine shoots up quick
