#1: Arron's Black XSi Project Author: arronmee1990, Location: Broughton Astley PostPosted: Mon Jun 06, 2011 12:43 pm
    ----
So I've been on here for over a year now I think and I always love reading through peoples project threads, so I thought I'd make my own.

First things first, I'm Arron and am 21. I am currently at Coventry University studying Motorsport Engineering.

This is how I got my car last January

But I always had plans for it. I won't bore you with every single mod I did along the way, so here's what it looks like now

The main thing I wanted to do was sort out the way the car sat so it's lowered 100mm on the front (FK AK coilies all the way down) and I'm not exactly sure how much on the back Confused

Front

Back

I did have to get a new exhaust as being this low the old one scrapped on the floor sometimes Sad Great excuse to visit Longlife though!

The wheels are Borbet As for those who didn't already know. They are 16" 7.5J all round and with the spacers are sitting at ET5 with 195/40 Toyo T1R's.

I was at FCS this weekend just gone but didn't get chance to speak to many people as my mate was on track so I was with him most of the time. There were a lot of nice cars on our stand! Hopefully the next meet I go to I will talk to some more people and get to know the people behind the cars.

I don't have any more plans as yet as I just want to enjoy it as it is for a bit. The only things I'd like to do would be to have some arch work done so I can get wider wheels on the back and maybe some rear lights but they're fine as they are for now I think. And a new splitter but not till I can find one that's nice and not many people have!

Comments and questions welcome Smile

(Sorry for pic whoring :P)

What He Said
Great looking car mate! Think I preferred the dual exhausts (as in one pipe either side)

But the rest of the car is the bee's knees!

Wheel Whores FTW! I posted on there that I was looking for a set of Borbet As or Compomotive MOs and someone got back to me the same day and went to pick them up at the weekend. They did need some work to get them looking like they do now though, this is how I got them

I was really lucky though as everything was the right size (offset, PCD etc)

Gave the car a much needed clean today. It's been neglected a bit recently Sad

It came up quite well for a quick wash but there are a lot of swirl marks that need attention. I've been looking at getting a machine polisher. I like the look of the DAS6PRO (I think that's what it's called), and cleanyourcar have some good package deals. It's just a case of saving up now.

My front bumpstrip has all cracked, well the paint not the plastic. So that's going to need redoing aswell at some point.

Haven't posted for a while and gave my car it's winter detail today so thought I'd put up some pictures of it in its new home undercover, since we have a drive and garage at our uni house and at home it gets left on the street!

Washed using 2bm car plan proffesional shampoo
Clayed using chemical guys yellow
Poorboys Polish with sealant
And then 2 coats of colinite wax
And some AG tyre dressing and window polish
