#1: Sam-c project thread (new plans on p2!) Author: sam-c, Location: Uni: Kent Home: Scunthorpe PostPosted: Wed Jun 08, 2011 5:55 am

Hi guys, thought it was about time I got one of these going to show how my car has developed Smile

I was fortunate enough to have the car bought for me by my parents when I was 16. It is a 55 plate 1.4 16v sport and it had a mere 7000 miles on the clock when I got her!

As she was when I got her

First thing I did was add a sound system which consisted of a kenwood headunit (I forget the model number), alpine type s speakers (soon replaced by a set of rockford fosgates) and alpine mrp-m352 and mrp-f300 amps (mounted in the rear passenger foot wells) with 2 12" rockford fosgate p1 subs.

I made these little foot rests so people in the back didn't damage the connections on the amps

I then added a set of black ultra led rear lights

Followed by a set of 15" team dynamic pro race 1.2s in white

Next up came an ashley motorsport 4" exhaust

Decided I needed a tad more boot space so built myself 2 separate boxes and sat them at each side of the boot. However, one of the subs got damaged so took it out and just had the one. I found this gave me the sound I had been hunting for so kept with 1 sub ever since.

I briefly added a set of black angle eyes but unfortunately the mount for one of hte bulbs was damaged so meant it pointed into on coming traffic even when adjusted as far as possible so they had to come off.

The car remained like this for quite a while untill I upgraded the audio. This time I had custom door cards built and I am currently running Hertz hi-energy 12" sub and components off a genesis p4 ultra amp using an alpine ida-x305s headunit with bluetooth module.

However, never got round to covering this install as I have decided that this summer I am going to make a false floor to house the amp as I want that bit extra boot space.

Then came the big make over ready for FCS 11!
I fitted black morettes with HIDs and fly eye kit, de-badged front grill and de-badged and de-wipered the boot, had my alloys re-sprayed black with a blue lip, lowered on FK AK coilovers, sp arches and team heko wind deflectors.

Heres some pictures from fcs

Plans:

new exhaust
fill the gap in the bonnet and remove the washer jets
black led 3rd break light, rear fog light and side lights
black masked fog lights
gti 180 interior
custom a pillars and re-trim b, c, roof lining and sun visors
gloss black wing mirrors
legal pressed plates
HID in main beam (if possible?)
white led side lights and number plate lights

I would just like to give a big thanks to Addaz for helping me fit pretty much everything, Uz for help with sourcing bits and pieces, KrisB and his team for lowering the car, I.S.L.A motorsport for the fantastic job they did on my spraying, Lee Thomas at sonic frontiers for building my door cards and supplying me with the majority of my install, and finally all the members on here who have sold me parts Very Happy

Thanks for reading

Sam

Looked sweet at FCS. Fantastic improvement from standard Smile

If by "HID in main beam" you mean full beams, it's possible, but you won't be able to flash people very well, since HIDs take a moment to warm up.

I would keep the bonnet gap. I think it looks cool Wink

There's always one that lowers the tone, I think it looks ok but would look better filled in, nice work mate

Mel would take that as a compliment Laughing

I didn't realise your car looked this good, I though it was all audio. Looks cool, especially the door cards.

thats your opinion which your entitled to Smile personally I think the front badge ruins the car hance why i removed it. will look 10x better once i get the bonnet filled in, just havent had the time yet
