#1: linkage and leaks Author: ian89, Location: north eastPosted: Fri Jun 10, 2011 5:17 am ---- right the first problem i ran into was getting the catr home it was totally fine until i got to the traffic lights near my home i tryed to select first but couldnt find it then when i did it just grinded the gears so i got 2nd and struggled to pull off but got moving.
the gears i can find 2,3,4,5,R yet when im in a gear the stick does not stay in place its very loose and can put it in a gear like 2nd for instance and slide it along toward reverse
heard it could be the linkage thaught id check on here what the 206 experts say thanks.
also i have an oil leak not sure if its the engine or steering fluid of both and they are both coverd in oil. and how do i check the steering fluid level
#2: Re: linkage and leaks Author: MrBSI, Location: What's it to you? ? ?Posted: Fri Jun 10, 2011 5:26 am ---- Power steering:
Open the bonnet & remove the cap that has a picture of a steering wheel on & also POWER ASSISTED STEERING printed on it.
You will find a dipstick attached to the cap.
Gearlinkages do wear, replace the link rods there cheap enough new from any Peugeot / Citroen main dealer.
