#1: Gemma's 1.4 5 door Author: Gemma, Location: SussexPosted: Fri Jun 10, 2011 12:15 pm ---- She wasn't supposed to be a project, but she's turned herself into one.
I've got a lot to do before I start modding.
So far I've debadged her
Painted the front badge
Put her in a ditch
Got her stuck on concrete blocks
Hit a wheelie bin
And ripped the exhaust out from underneath her
And some nice person hit the mirror for me
She's the first car I've actually driven by myself, so most of that was very early in my driving experience. I've improved a lot.
And it shouldn't be too long before the drivers side wing is sorted at least. That's the main priority at the moment, then I can move on to other things.

#5: Re: Gemma's 1.4 5 door Author: Gemma, Location: SussexPosted: Fri Jun 10, 2011 1:34 pm ---- Thank you. I do try to be different
I know I've put her through a lot, but she runs perfectly *touch wood* at the moment. I'm lucky it's mostly cosmetic damage.
#6: Re: Gemma's 1.4 5 door Author: abs06, Location: East SussexPosted: Fri Jun 10, 2011 3:45 pm ---- Nice colour. Get them dings sorted. Alot of them bits should be avaiable down scrap yards. A decent one is in pease pottage (a23/m23) bit of a treak but good on price
#7: Re: Gemma's 1.4 5 door Author: Gemma, Location: SussexPosted: Sat Jun 11, 2011 1:35 pm ---- Already got the drivers side wing on the way. Just waiting for it to be sprayed, then I can sort that light out and move on from there.
Just got to figure out what is more urgent. Or at least cheapest to do next.
#8: Re: Gemma's 1.4 5 door Author: Ditza, Location: CambridgeshirePosted: Sat Jun 11, 2011 2:22 pm ---- I can't believe what your poor car has been through lol, but I'm chuffed for you that you haven't lost heart and just left it smashed to pieces. I hit someone up the a**e at a roundabout, I dented my bonnet, cracked and scuffed my front bumper and started to feel s***ty about driving round in it, but I'm getting it all fixed now and it's starting to look sweet. Good luck getting yours to the nice little car it should be, you'll be proud when you do.
#9: Re: Gemma's 1.4 5 door Author: Gemma, Location: SussexPosted: Sat Jun 11, 2011 2:27 pm ---- Oh, I know. Mum keeps telling me what a good car it was when I got it, and I keep telloing her it will be again!! But she wants me to sell her But I want to sort her out and keep her going. She's my first car. I'm very attached.
#10: Re: Gemma's 1.4 5 door Author: pug206lx, Location: Taking a gearbox off somewherePosted: Sat Jun 11, 2011 5:14 pm ---- Sort it, don't sell it. People who aren't into cars tend to think of them as disposable items, for example your hoover breaks - bin it and get another one.
Don't sell it just cause someone else wants you to, shouldnt cost much to fix anyway, those panels all bolt on and if you look in the right places you will get them dirt cheap!
#11: Re: Gemma's 1.4 5 door Author: Andrew, Location: Black Country Ay IPosted: Sat Jun 11, 2011 5:47 pm ---- You will have a sense of acheivement when you get the new parts on
Hey on the bright side you have an excuse to put sports bumpers on Good luck and I hope it stays nice and tidy for you
#12: Re: Gemma's 1.4 5 door Author: Gemma, Location: SussexPosted: Tue Jun 14, 2011 2:42 pm ---- I was thinking about sport bumpers, but they'll probably have to wait a bit.
Anyone know if that crack in my bumper is an MOT failure or not?

#15: Re: Gemma's 1.4 5 door Author: -Dave-, Location: North ManchesterPosted: Sat Jun 18, 2011 4:47 pm ---- I don't know quite what to say. Apart from that must have been one large wheelie bin. I believe this car will need a lot of TLC in the future

It was a regular, empty wheelie bin. Not quite sure how is destoryed my wing, but, eh. New one on its way
&& I'm in East Sussex, not too far from Eastbourne.
#18: Re: Gemma's 1.4 5 door Author: Gemma, Location: SussexPosted: Tue Aug 02, 2011 2:40 pm ---- Popped a new drivers side wing on, and put her in for an MOT
Doors still a little bit bent and the paint needs touching up at some point in the future though.
