#1: Gti Engine Author: Jake, Location: ReadingPosted: Sat Jun 11, 2011 2:46 pm ---- I know engine conversations have been covered a million times and people say it's easier to just buy a gti but I've done to much to the car to just get rid of it. Anyway all I want to know is if that my 1.4 preplex loom will plug into a gti preplex engine?

Then you could swap all the looms and suspension etc
#3: Re: Gti Engine Author: Edward, Location: In the garagePosted: Sat Jun 11, 2011 2:56 pm ---- You'd need the GTi engine loom but I imagine they'd plug in somewhere along the line.
#4: Re: Gti Engine Author: Seabook, Posted: Sat Jun 11, 2011 3:11 pm ---- if you can do the conversion urself then it is good.
#5: Re: Gti Engine Author: Jake, Location: ReadingPosted: Sat Jun 11, 2011 3:14 pm ---- Yeah id be able to do the conversion myself it's just the loom I'm unsure about
#6: Re: Gti Engine Author: Seabook, Posted: Sat Jun 11, 2011 3:17 pm ---- pretty sure you will need the gti loom....
#7: Re: Gti Engine Author: no_offences, Location: LeedsPosted: Sat Jun 11, 2011 3:28 pm ---- dont waste your time seriously , im not saying buy a gti, just get something else under there the gti engine isnt worth the bother, v6 it lol can buy a 406 v6 for under a grand that includes brembos and you could sell rest of the bits for spares

this sounds like a much better idea
#9: Re: Gti Engine Author: Seb, Location: Under your bedPosted: Sun Jun 12, 2011 3:55 am ---- From personal experience. Don't do it. There is very little point, too much money and/or time involved for such little gain. The GTi is still slow anyway.
#10: Re: Gti Engine Author: Callum206, Location: West SussexPosted: Sun Jun 12, 2011 4:06 am ---- If your going to do it do whats been said you can fit a v6 in there no point wasting your time getting a gti engine.
