Radio and climate control fault
-> 206 Problems

#1: Radio and climate control fault Author: bec84, Location: Swansea PostPosted: Wed Jun 15, 2011 5:08 am

Hi,

I purchased a w reg 206 gti a few weeks back. Anyway I disconnected the battery as it was not in place properly... ever since re connecting the battery EVERY TIME I start the car up my radio asks me for the code and loses all it's memory, like which track number the cd was on and the radio presets

It's almost like I disconnect the battery all the time? Confused

I have tried searching for a solution about it but can't seem to find anything Embarassed

Also, my climate control, every time I start the car up it goes on any old setting it wants to and not the setting I last left it on?
Where as my 206cc climate control stays on the last setting I left it on? Do you think this shares the same problem as the radio?

Any help be much appreciated.

Thanks

Not sure about the climate control but the usual fix for the adio would e to swap the yellow and red wires around on the back of the head unit.

Yes everytime I start the car, I enter the radio, the radio comes on and everything works perfect etc, then I turn the car off, turn it back on and back to square one, radio asks me for the code again.... and it does this every time! It never did this until I disconnected the battery Sad
