My 206 2.0 HDi is due for MOT next month. I just bought Nimrod alloys the tyres is 195/45/16 at front and 205/45/16 at rear. My mate told me that it will be MOT fail as it's different sizes. Is my mate tell the truth?

I appears here it will only fail if there is a mix and match of sizes on the same axle

www.ukmot.com/4-1.asp

I would wait for some one else to confirm before though

Andrew is correct. It is only a fail if they are different size's on the same axle.

I'm fairly sure it's ok. I'm guessingit would be the same rules for mixing on the same axle as it is for cross and radial ply tyres.
If in doubt, stick you head into an MOT place as your passing and ask. They are the ones who have the final say and they are the first to get the VOSA guidelines.
