#1: 206 APF and catalytic converter Fault Author: PugJH, Location: NorthantsPosted: Fri Jun 17, 2011 1:18 am ---- Driving to work today and BAM got hit by a double wammy of a fault code.
Anti pollution *seen that before and its a generic look further into it problem*
but then catalytic converter fault pops up, car starts running like a dog panting, made the mistake of pullin over in a P bay on a dual carriage way, pulling out was a nightmare trying to gain speed.
Anyway to the point, i know of a few possible problem.
Possibly sensor reading issue, firmware update???
Possible Sensor fault itself, possible Cat replacement needed.
anyone had this problem pop up and actually not have a problem? just the sensor needing a wipe or dodgy cable?
Was going to go DVLA today to get my plates swapped to my new car so i can start using that aswel, bloody thing.
All help greatly appreciated

as for the car running slow, when my car did this it needed a new coil pack! £70 job and boom my car was back on the road.
#3: Re: 206 APF and catalytic converter Fault Author: Seb, Location: Under your bedPosted: Fri Jun 17, 2011 4:59 am ---- Probably coil pack if it's stuttering, it will throw up the cat fault because it's not firing on one of the cylinders.
#4: Re: 206 APF and catalytic converter Fault Author: PugJH, Location: NorthantsPosted: Fri Jun 17, 2011 5:45 am ---- It does stutter, around the idle and 500rpm above that, and when it goes back to idle it shakes a bit.
And it makes a funny noise like air escaping, altho alot like a tractor now.
How can i pin point the problem? i'd not thought about coilpack if im honest
#5: Re: 206 APF and catalytic converter Fault Author: Keisha206, Location: MiddlesbroughPosted: Fri Jun 17, 2011 5:55 am ---- I took mine to a garage, the coil pack wasnt a particularly expensive job, but i did get the part at trade price because this exact thing happened to me a month after i bought the car as i was coming down the sliproad onto a dual carriageway i couldnt get over 30mph and when it did it shook like hell! The lady at the garage kindly offered the part at trade price after a few cross words were exchanged!! haha
