You probably don't remember but I'm STILL trying to sort out my misfire. (I'm a lazy b&stard) the check light is intermittently ON or FLASHING.
On my old nissan there was a method of getting the check light to flash out a generic fault code by bridging some of the connector pins (ie when my MAF sensor went it flashed out a code for "air intake system fault") is there a way to do this on my pug?
My mates dad has got an OBD reader but what with my shifts its a hassle to get us both together.

Short answer is NO.
You need a code reader, if its 2001 onwards car it will be EOBD & you can pick a basic fault code reader up cheap enough.
Diagnostic socket is behind the dash panel to the right of the drivers knee, turn the plastic screw with a coin & lift up / unclip the panel.
You shouldnt be using the car if its misfiring, your gonna end up doing some damage thats gonna cost even more money to put right.

Cheers mate, I know I shouldn't be, but to be honest she's into Palliative care now. there's so much wrong I'm just trying to keep it running as long as possible.
