You taken them all out? I know barely anything is actually used within the looms it's just effort finding it all out.

You not having any custom switches or anything them? not sure where else you could mount them.

The speedlines are lighter than the SMRs, fractionally. So depending on what you swapped you might have saved a few grams!

I thought you had to have a dash for track days?

Looks good, will be following with interest. If you've got any Q's about anything I practically rebuilt a 106GTI (effectively the same car) about a year and a half ago...

For standard track days your car is sometimes required to be road legal, all depends who is running it.

The dash can just be put back on right? It can't weigh more than 1kg? Eat less pies.

Yeah I weighed them the speedlines are around 2.5kg lighter which is good but now on the rear they are going to be different Laughing

I don't know I didn't think so? Don't see why it would bother them.

Cheers I will do what was yours like? do you still have it?

@Seb it requires an MOT but because obviously non road legal cars won't have an MOT they expect it to be in a good enough shape to pass one (not silly things just brakes suspension etc). They do test the cars before to make sure they aren't dangerous but it should be fine. It still differs between tracks though.

The dash didn't last long.. shame as it was flocked but it was tatty and already cut in places so just took it out. A lot better without it imo.

The heater matrix and piping has all been removed as well as the coolant hoses sorted just haven't got a pic. Will update when it's all tidied up a little more.

Loads of photos in here. Didn't go the track slag route, made mine back to OEM+ really. Sold it last year, not sure what happened to it.

Rust around the rear wheels is common due to a horrible piece of plate weld design which allows water to sit inbetween panels.

I just know there was a bit of debate about it back on 106OC back in the day about whether a dash was required or not.

Speedlines have brand appeal also, +5bhp (probably)

Looked through them all looks really nice shame you sold it and yeah the rust is crap, nearly every piece of metal has at least surface rust on it as well.

Hope dash isn't needed, I wouldn't have thought so and the definition is debateable, I'm making a custom dash for it which will hold all the switches Smile

That's good it was letting it down a bit Laughing I've been searching for this rule book but I can't find anything it's just word of mouth it's difficult to get a definite answer.
