#1: I've definatly angered the beast! Author: liam180, Location: BuckinghamshirePosted: Sat Jun 18, 2011 7:26 am ---- I thought my battery had died and needed replacing, so i checked it with a multimeter and it's coming up with between 11.2 and 12.6 v.
This made me think it could be the starter motor, I have no idea where that is on my car, but i'd read if you put the car in high gear and rock it back n forth it can jolt the starter in to starting so i did that....
still doesnt start and now comes up with economy mode on the read out....
maybe time to bite the bulliet n let a garage sort it $$$$$

If you RTFM you will find thats perfectly normal, you need to start the engine to get it back out of economy mode

And with the starter sounding like it's gone i don't think it's going to start to easily.
#6: Re: I've definatly angered the beast! Author: Harry, Location: StaffordPosted: Sat Jun 18, 2011 7:42 am ---- If I have any of the electrics on for more than 20 mins without starting the car economy mode shows

#8: Re: I've definatly angered the beast! Author: liam180, Location: BuckinghamshirePosted: Sat Jun 18, 2011 11:48 am ---- yeah, but the battery still seems to die after a while. im guna give it a good charge n see what happens
#9: Re: I've definatly angered the beast! Author: copey, Location: rochdalePosted: Sat Jun 18, 2011 12:02 pm ---- yup economy mode active is just when youve had the electrics on for a certain amount of time without firing the engine up
#10: Re: I've definatly angered the beast! Author: V9977, Location: Athens, GreecePosted: Sat Jun 18, 2011 12:20 pm ---- If the battery voltage is below 12.25V with ignition-off, it's had it.
With engine running it should be around 14V if the alternator is working correctly.
