Defiantly can do the rear wiper thing, couldn't tell you about the auto locking without pluggiing the laptop in

Just an update on this. It stopped happening for a while but has started to rear its ugly head again.

The headlight still come on randomly and also when I'm indicating, and will go off again once the indicator stops. So do I need to replace the Com2000 unit to fix this or can it be plugged into the software on a laptop and deactivated or what?

Right, I'm getting worried now. Was driving home last night and when I went to indicate off a main road onto a side road the headlights went out on me completely and I had to scramble quickly to get them back on again to see what was in front of me. I completely s**t myself. I don't want this happening again so should I take it to Peugeot and get them to fix it (whatever could be wrong) or should I look about getting something myself? I notice that the stalk for the lights is a good deal more 'slack' than the wiper stalk, maybe it just needs tightening up or there's a loose connection?

When the lights come on, fiddle with the light switch a bit, but dont switch them on. See if they go off. Mine do the same thing as yours and they go off when i do that

Also do your indicators randomly stop and then start again if you nudge the stalk?

My COM2000 is on its way out.

I have a comms unit for sale Wink

The lights will go off strangely if I press the "Auto" button at the end of the stalk even though this com unit is not the one supposed to be on the car (it doesn't have the auto headlights feature or the front fogs even though the stalk has controls for them). If I also wiggle the stalk a bit the lights will also go out, but that's the problem, moving the stalk to indicate at night when the headlights need to be on can cause the headlights to go out, which is incredibly dangerous, especially where I am as there's lots of country roads and no street lights to guide me if it happened even just down the road from my house.

I have seen a few com units on eBay and such but I don't know which one I need. How many different types are there?

Any 206 unit will do as long as it has all the functions yours has. If it has extras like your current one its not a problem.

It must affect it in some way though, pressing that auto button makes the lights go off, even though the button isn't connected to anything and shouldn't be doing anything. I'd rather just have the one that is supposed to fit my model of car. Extra buttons I can't use just annoy me, 'because I'll wanna press 'em!
