West midlands meet

#1: West midlands meet Author: furryhobnob, Location: Nuneaton PostPosted: Sat Jun 25, 2011 3:17 pm

After not being able to attend fcs I'm looking to organise a meet or a camping overnight meet, main reason is to have a laugh but to also meet some members on here, I'm in Nuneaton near Coventry and don't mind travelling 45mins-1hr if someone knows a decent place to camp etc, billing aquadome in Northampton isnt too far a drive and not a bad place to camp but if someone knows anywhere better/closer I'm all ears, just a yay or nay to who would be interested in this, cheers

I'm in Smile providing I can get it off work. Not familar with any places especially but try and make it pretty central of the west mids if you can, so it would be a closer drive for all.

Yeah that's my plan Harry, as central as possible for everyone, I was thinking camping, BBQ some beers and car chat and cleaning sounds like a good night to me lol

If camping doesn't get enough interest a meet would still be good, hasn't been a west mid meet since new year

#12: Re: West midlands meet Author: furryhobnob, Location: Nuneaton PostPosted: Sat Jun 25, 2011 3:51 pm
    ----
I agree Harry, I think a camping meet so close to the info summer meet isn't the best idea, a meet would still be good though, coming to a mcdonalds near you haha

I had to swap a few shift's to attend but it will be worth it. But saying that I'm only half hour away so don't have to travel far.

#14: Re: West midlands meet Author: furryhobnob, Location: Nuneaton PostPosted: Sat Jun 25, 2011 3:54 pm

It's not too far from me, takes me 40 mins to get to my work in derby, gutted I'm working, i can't swap shifts where I work!

nuneaton/coventry is about 50 miles for me. if you do the meet somewhere not much further i'd be up for it. im in the mode of saving up to do the 180 up, so i wanna turn up to as many meets as possible for the next few months to see others peoples cars and get plenty of ideas before i start.

#16: Re: West midlands meet Author: furryhobnob, Location: Nuneaton PostPosted: Sat Jun 25, 2011 3:58 pm

Haha pinxton boy can't u get enough ideas off here without flesh stealing ideas aswell Wink
I'm not doing much to mine at the mum, I'm gonna paint the calipers Monday, trying to source some sp parts, then that's me pretty much done without getting in trouble with the other half, but I can't see it being too far from Nuneaton/Coventry you never know it might be slightly closer to you

yep i'm just an idea thief! Laughing i've never attempted moddin a car so i need all the info i can get. i think seeing the cars in person & gettin to know the people that have put all the time and effort into them will help me out a bit.

#18: Re: West midlands meet Author: furryhobnob, Location: Nuneaton PostPosted: Sat Jun 25, 2011 4:12 pm
    ----
Yeah I agree, the thing is seeing someone else's mods gives you similiar ideas and maybe even a few of your own along the way, which is always a good thing Smile

Could meet at the Ricoh Arena?

#26: Re: West midlands meet Author: furryhobnob, Location: Nuneaton PostPosted: Sun Jun 26, 2011 3:09 am

Yeah they do have speed bumps, I couldn't get over them without damaging the car. Good when it's empty in the morning though you can go round them Laughing

ricoh would be boring! Bowling, pool, laser quest, pizza hut and burger king are all on the next m6 junction after the ricoh which would probably be better imo!

Its an expensive s**te hole.

Another 2 things not in its favour:

1) Its right near the land pirate camp

2) Its also in smelling distance of the sewage works.
