Hi,
Having a trouble with the factory alarm on my x reg (2000), 206.
It is the one button key, so press once to lock and again to set alarm, (i think)

The problem is sometimes my alarm goes off whilst driving, anyone else had this problem, I am probably doing something wrong, sorry if this has already been answered.

you may have a button above the handbreak witch is the internal alarm sensors press it see if it fixes your problem if not could be a fault with your alarm system and may need a new bsi , hard to say with out seeing it.

Why are you pressing the lock button twice on a single button keyfob?

I get the feeling someone has retrofitted an alarm system to this car.

It's not possible for the factory alarm system to sound while the engine is running as the transponder immobiliser chip would shut the alarm system down.

Does your 206 have the following?

Ultrasonic disable button by the handbrake?
Flashing hazard light button when system armed?
Ultrasonic sensors with covers at the top of each A pillar?
Siren in the back right hand corner of the engine bay?

It has everything you said, but no button at handbrake.

I press once to lock and then if i press it again it unlocks and locks again itself and the red light by the clock begins to flash.

Exactly, got in contact with the previous owner, and he said he had took it to peugeot and the ran a diagnostic and couldn't work out what was wrong.

Is there anyway of removing a factory alarm?
