#1: Favor please - Multiplexed owners Author: Lee, Location: England PostPosted: Sat Jul 02, 2011 12:49 pm

Curiosity is getting the better of me now. With the keys for the car there are only two types to suit and work on the 206, but yet there are 3 circuit boards so I'm trying to find out the differences.

Could you let me know the number on your internal circuit board when you open the key up. Looks like this.....

And also your chassis number please so I can look what features it has.

Its my curiosity getting the better of me, and also for future reference when people are trying to find out what key they need.

Thanks,
Lee

i also have the C version 2003 non-fog, and on the opposite side have a [45] embossed in it.

will be intrigued to read your findings, seeing as i can't get a used board to sync, maybe because it has a [15] on it.

I'm absolutely stumped at the minute mate.

Out of all the numbers and VINs that I've received so far the B and C circuit board seemed to be associated with part number 6554 YR [fogs and not improved range], but then had a C one that was part number 6554 YL [NO fogs and not improved range]. So I'm confuzzled.

I've got 4 keys here

I've got a C one with 35 embossed
A B one with 26 embossed
A B one with 8 embossed
and a D one with 3 embossed

So I have no idea what the embossed numbers mean, because they just seem to be random

I've had another look at mine, tried to get photos but bit blurry. Just above the button there is 34 embossed. Don't know if that helps any.

Still no closer.

Thought I was on the trail that the C board was fogs and no alarm, and the B board was fogs with alarm. But then I've had a GTi vin with the C board which obviously has an alarm :/

well my C board is for a car that came without fogs and without alarm.
i have properly retrofitted both although my car is still 'non-fog' type in pp2000.

i share your pain, it's been bugging me too trying to get a 2nd remote working from a used board!

had this issue a few times before and have never managed to code a second hand key. must be a feature bult in that only one transponder code can be used, had the same happen to a vauxhall astra g, i am guess ing the transponder part can only be issued with a code once unless the same code is sent to it again ??? i just try fix cars now and have given up trying to understand them.

The circuit boards should be reprogrammable as long as the circuit board matches your existing one. Was just curious of the differences.

Transponder can only be coded to one car, and can't be virginised and then coded to another one.

Reprogram the wife? lol

Nah not done it on a 206 yet. If something like the 307 has it, couldn't you just upload the ECU software from there, and then change the IMMO code to match yours in the BSI?
