#1: Projects.. Author: brad-morris, Location: BromsgrovePosted: Sun Jul 03, 2011 7:25 am ---- So im stuck in abit of a predicament, ive got about £2500/£3000 to spend in total to buy a 206 and make it into a project just modding it slighty.
I wanted to know what spec and engines did you all go for and why as im stuck on what to choose ?!
It's hard trying to find a 206 that has either had decent service history/low mileage or even had a cam belt change they all seem to be high mileage and a high price now a days!
#2: Re: Projects.. Author: MattyP, Location: PlymouthPosted: Sun Jul 03, 2011 7:28 am ---- mate for the money you have you could still get a low milage gti 180 or if you search all over maybe a clean gti 138 with low milage
#3: Re: Projects.. Author: Uz, Location: No Man's LandPosted: Sun Jul 03, 2011 7:30 am ---- As Matt's said get yourself a GTi180 and than just do a few sutble mods, exhaust, filter and a few little things and bang.
#4: Re: Projects.. Author: Lee, Location: EnglandPosted: Sun Jul 03, 2011 7:31 am ---- You've had one 206, buy something different. Live a little.
#5: Re: Projects.. Author: Edward, Location: In the garagePosted: Sun Jul 03, 2011 7:31 am ---- For £3k you could have a big choice of 206's and have some money left over for a cambelt change too.

Author: MattyP, Location: PlymouthPosted: Sun Jul 03, 2011 7:35 am ---- At that age you should be fine, I had a saxo vts when I was 21 and a gti is in the same insurance group but with a bit more power and not so boy racer look to it, you could always go jap and get a clean s13 for that money or a golf/audi 1.8 turbo

Yeah right.
When I was 19 I was driving a 205 GTI (1.6) for £900 a year.
Now im 23 and it will cost me £895 to insure our new 1.6 205 GTI.
Four years older, four years more driving experience claim free... go figure..
