My engine has a constant ticking coming from the rocker. One of my mates has said that its the things that the cams push down are a bit warn?
Would that sound about right?
If so, is it an expensive job? I want to get my car back to sounding sweet, and hopefully get the power back it came with.
All I need to do is give it a service and sort this ticking, and it should be right as rain
Any help would be much appreciated.

My oil is about half on the dipstick, so it does need a bit more, but that'll get done with the service.
If the service doesnt help that much, does the valve lifter go in with the oil?

Distillates (petroleum), hydrotreated heavy naphthenic; Baseoil
is just basic stock mineral oil.
Zink alkyl dithiofosfaat is ZDDP, used to have about 5% to 10% in the engine oil before cat. was introduced; it is used as an anti wear agent. apparently it is toxic to the cat. so modern engine oil have <2% of that present. apparant they replace that with other thing but not as effective?
most competition oil will have at least 5% of that present anyway.

So your saying dont use it as everything I need is in the oil?

however, many people like to add redex or what so ever in their oil or petrol frequently, you just can't ignore the placebo effect.

I wont be putting any additives in at least until the service is done.
I know you said the valve lifters can be expensive, but dont suppose you know a rough figure?
