#1: Trouble with LED map light Author: davieboy86, Location: Kent,Posted: Wed Jul 06, 2011 4:54 am ---- I've brought some of these bulbs for my ' two light ' style courtesy light but I can't get the led bulb to fit in the map light bit, any advice from anyone who has swapped these bulbs over,
Do I need to get a single led bulb instead of the five led bulb style I have got.

Needs to be like a flat LED bulb

I had those exact ones fitted however these LED's will not fully go out (they stay on a tiny bit all of the time).
To get the Map light to go off 100% when its supposed to you need one with a built-in resistor. They are advertised on ebay as "NO Canbus Error LED"
I have now changed mine to this exact one. Its fitted in my interior light, glovebox and boot light. It fits fine for the single light style. But you will need a flat version with a built in resistor (if they even exist) if you want the light to go out 100% as the circuit always contains a small amoutn of current, not enough to light a standard bulb but enough for a LED

The courtesy light seems to go on and off ok so hopefully the map light will too when I get the single led bulb style, I've just ordered one from eBay, £3 odd.
