#1: Well, That wasted my entire day :p Author: MrrNoName, Location: UKPosted: Wed Jul 06, 2011 10:23 am ---- Ok so, the day started with me taking a trip to pug to pick up a glovebox light and switch as my car already has the wireing behind the glovebox ready to install. The 1hr 30 min round trip went great, I sucessfully aquired both parts
got home, removed the standard bulb and fitted an LED one, disconnected the battery and fitted both parts, reconnected the battery and nothing . Ok i thought, must be the LED in the wrong way around. Disconnected the battery again and swapped the LED round. Reconnected and nothing messed around with the switch and the light fixture for a couple of hours, tested the switch, works fine, tested the light, works fine.
Finally came to the conclusion that maybe it wasnt wired up at the other end?
put the key in the ignition to do my window up because its just started raining and WOOAH it lit up
Why didnt I think of that about 3 hours ago lol, of course it wont work without the key in, or a open glovebox could flatten the battery!
Still bloody annoying that I didnt think about that hours ago though Last edited by MrrNoName on Wed Jul 06, 2011 10:36 am; edited 2 times in total

A quick search would throw up this, and the problem would have been sorted in 5 minutes.

I had to go and help a mate yesterday because he'd jacked the car up without loosening the wheel bolts first and couldnt work out how to press the brakes and undo the wheel nut at the same time...

I got a glove box light and switch from a scrap yard and found I didn't have the wires so I never bothered putting it in.
