#1: Just picked up my vortex's from city powdercoaters Author: furryhobnob, Location: Nuneaton PostPosted: Thu Jul 07, 2011 12:22 pm

Just got home from picking them up, made them stay over to finish them as I needed them today, results are pretty good, not for the perfectionist as there's a few little marks on them, for £20 an alloy you certainly can't complain, getting the tyres fitted tomorrow after work

And an outside pic, they actually look a lot lighter in the pics as they do in the flesh

Haha oh right kingdom, they look a slightly different colour to andrewpxs nimmies that were done in anthracite at the same place, either way 1 happy customer, would recommend them to anyone local enough to use them, dropped them off Tuesday morning, collected them today, so 2 day turn-around for me

Cheers pal, yeah on my other gti I paid £40 a corner for a refurb and respray, the quality is better going down the powdercoated route in my opinion, and for £80 for all 4 alloys I felt like I was robbing them, the guy told me they were increasing the price to £30 an alloy soon, which is still dirt cheap in my opinion

if it is only shot blasting and powder coating £20 per corner is normal price.

Gloss red lions are going on the wheels lol, and lowering is on the todo list kingdom, and no stretch mate must just be the pic Smile

I still think gloss black lions would look better, i dont think there is enough red for it to work and with a colour like red its hard to get a good balance without it being over the top. The calipers would look good painted too Very Happy

Kind of agree, I think colour matched to the black of the car would have looked better. Cause it's very dark like black yet not quite the same as the paint so tiny bit mis matched to me.

Still does look good though just think it would have been better completely different colour wise or the same.

thinking of getting them colour matched to the bodywork but unsure if that will be too much might get a 2nd set and have a go see what they look like

After seeing them tonight I can say they look better in the flesh than in the photos. I personally don't think there's too much black, but even so that will be fixed when you finish your other plans mate. The red calipers, red lions, and phase 2 rear lights will break it up nicely.

Of course if you don't like them you could always buy my nimmies off me mate? Smile I doubt I'll clean your car for you tho! Wink

cheers dude! Smile
