#1: Roof strips removal question Author: davieboy86, Location: Kent,Posted: Thu Jul 07, 2011 2:48 pm ---- I was going to paint those plastic strips that you can take off of the roof (go all the way to the bottom of the windscreen) but i was wondering will the car still be water tight over night, ( I am not stupid enough to think that it goes straight through to the interior of the car, but surely they have a purspose?)
i havent pulled them off yet so im not sure whats underneath or how tbh so any guidance is appreciated.
Thanks guys

#3: Re: Roof strips removal question Author: Abzynthe, Posted: Thu Jul 07, 2011 2:51 pm ---- You might need some pliers for the clips at the bottom of the windscreen though. Ive had to put screws in mine to hold em down after I wrapped them. But will be water tight

#5: Re: Roof strips removal question Author: Abzynthe, Posted: Thu Jul 07, 2011 2:55 pm ---- No its a plastic clip. just pull em with pliers, your most likely going to brake them because they are brittle, but a small screw works a treat
#6: Re: Roof strips removal question Author: Rob2859, Location: HalifaxPosted: Thu Jul 07, 2011 2:56 pm ---- They have some funny plastic clips on the bottom. Could't work out how to remove them so I just ragged them off. They are still perfectly secure
#7: Re: Roof strips removal question Author: davieboy86, Location: Kent,Posted: Thu Jul 07, 2011 2:57 pm ---- what sort of clips, standard trim clips or metal clips like on the foglight connectors or actually moulded plastic on the stripp itself?
#8: Re: Roof strips removal question Author: Abzynthe, Posted: Thu Jul 07, 2011 3:03 pm ---- its hard to explain, they are flat and round on the top and they push into a hole in the strip then into the metal underneath.
