Can anyone help?

The first problem i have is that i am losing coolant somehow as there are no obvious signs of leaks anywhere so can't figure out how i am losing it, temperature is fine never above 90 no warning lights no signs of head gasket gone, the only thing i have heard twice is a water rushing noise coming from the dash on the passenger side but no leak anywhere.?

The second problem is the gear stick can be lifted up and popped down again not sure what this problem is.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Update - Got a new rad fitted although now when the fan kicks in at 90 degrees there is a weird squeeling sound?, the garage said the gear lever mount is needing replaced but can't source the part so wanted to put a substance round it that sets and hardens does anyone know if gear lever mounts are easy to get or what they are?

If its not an airlock in the cooling then it's a headgasket. Mine had no other symptoms than what you said and it has a HG.

Bleed you're calling system by running the engine and opening the bleed screws with the cap off Smile

If your loosing coolant bleeding the system won't do anything. In fact by what you describe it doesn't even sound like you have an airlock. The coolant is obviously going somewhere, I'd suggest running the engine while the cars on your drive, with the heater in the hot position, & look round the engine etc untill you find the leak. If it's not a visible leak, double check the signs of a knackered head gasket like mayonnaising on the oil fillet cap.

The noise you heard will probably be water noise in your matrix (heater) the pipe from there goes to the bulkhead.
where you'll find the bleed screw on the cylinder head(alan key)
obviously got air in system.

Leaking from the radiator itself or is the jubilee clip loose?

Don't know Lee, when i go out a run and come back and open the bonnet straight away the leak is at the bottom left hand side of the rad and quickly evaporates, come back out the next day and the header tank is well down and a small bit of water is on the ground.

Just have a look under the car to see if its leaking from the pipe

Just looked and defo the bottom of the rad, on another note i noticed the cylinder head rubber looks worn and cracked would this be a problem also?

there's products out there that you can buy, that cieculates the system and seals minor leaks.
never had to use them myself.
