I think Kersh is talking about the Clutch release bearing, worth a look, but 1st a new ICV as they are cheaper.
But Kersh seems closer to the problem than i was, because as he said ICV would affect it while driving.

EDIT:

Yes by all means check the Airflow, check the pipe from filter box to the engine, see if its squashed anywhere, my xsi's was and i could see the needle go up fall back down a bit then go back up again, maybe its that Very Happy

if youre checking for an air leak, run the engine and lightly spray wd40 around all the gaskets and seals where a leak could be. if there is a change in engine noise in any way then the wd40 is getting into the system and you have a leak

If it was the clutch.. just as a very approx estimate at an independent garage ( say £30/hr ) how much do you think it would cost labour plus materials to fit a new clutch ?

Cheers

Hi smallzoo

Did you fix this I think my 206 has a very similar problem.

Any help would be greatly appreciated as the garage I go to seem baffled.

Thanks
