#1: Painted calipers Author: furryhobnob, Location: NuneatonPosted: Sun Jul 17, 2011 7:41 am ---- Had a few hours spare so decided to paint my calipers, just doing the front for now, will do the rears through the week, I know red isn't everyone's favourite as it's probably the most overdone colour but I'm doing a black and red theme so they had to be red, anyhow here's a couple of pics

#8: Re: Painted calipers Author: bisphenol-a, Location: AntarcticaPosted: Sun Jul 17, 2011 8:50 am ---- everyone seems to paint it with a brush. other car forums i see they mask everything but the caliper and spray on.
anyone did that before?
#9: Re: Painted calipers Author: furryhobnob, Location: NuneatonPosted: Sun Jul 17, 2011 8:53 am ---- Most people I know brush it on, but you can spray if you want,my mate who was a sprayer as a job painted his with a brush instead of spraying, I don't know what the benefits of either way are?
#10: Re: Painted calipers Author: Jordan_xsi, Location: IpswichPosted: Sun Jul 17, 2011 9:11 am ---- Looks very good mate!

The Discs look tiny in that last pic tho
#21: Re: Painted calipers Author: furryhobnob, Location: NuneatonPosted: Sun Jul 17, 2011 4:09 pm ---- I was thinking how small the disc looked too,it's standard size though
#22: Re: Painted calipers Author: Mattie-RS, Location: A Track near you ;)Posted: Sun Jul 17, 2011 4:10 pm ---- Get some Brembo's under there
One thing Pug lack is using some decend brakes
#23: Re: Painted calipers Author: furryhobnob, Location: NuneatonPosted: Sun Jul 17, 2011 4:23 pm ---- To be fair the brakes on the 180 are pretty decent, especially over my gti 138, brembo's would look good but can't be bothered uprating the hoses and servo
#24: Re: Painted calipers Author: Mattie-RS, Location: A Track near you ;)Posted: Sun Jul 17, 2011 4:39 pm ---- Yea they are pretty decend tbh, but after experiancing Brembo's can certainly tell the difference
#25: Re: Painted calipers Author: JE_180, Location: WiltshirePosted: Sun Jul 17, 2011 4:44 pm ---- Don't Brembo's squeel like a w**re though?
#26: Re: Painted calipers Author: Mattie-RS, Location: A Track near you ;)Posted: Sun Jul 17, 2011 4:45 pm ---- Mine don't
#27: Re: Painted calipers Author: JE_180, Location: WiltshirePosted: Sun Jul 17, 2011 4:50 pm ---- Meh, just something I've seen people complaining about, something to do with the disc size?
#28: Re: Painted calipers Author: furryhobnob, Location: NuneatonPosted: Sun Jul 17, 2011 5:21 pm ---- Mattie must be lucky as most people's squeak like fook even if they've used a shed load of copper grease
#30: Re: Painted calipers Author: DJ-, Location: UKPosted: Mon Jul 18, 2011 10:33 am ---- Matties came standard on his clio rs so they wont squeel as its correct fitment!!

#35: Re: Painted calipers Author: Seabook, Posted: Mon Jul 18, 2011 11:09 am ---- too small, get something like 350 brake kit under your 17" wheel
#36: Re: Painted calipers Author: Mattie-RS, Location: A Track near you ;)Posted: Mon Jul 18, 2011 2:25 pm ---- There's hardly anymore room for any bigger John
