my 1.1 has the adjustable tappets is there a way or can you buy a hydraulic conversion ? i no its only a 1.1 but the ticking is getting on my tits now Smile

Unless I've got this very wrong then the 8V TU engine cars use a central cam and finger rockers. AFAIK there's no way to convert these to hydraulic. The design (in part carried over from the gear in sump Douvrin engines of the 70's) makes it impractical.

What you can try is getting them adjusted properly. There's a tool call 'click adjust' which makes the job easier than using feeler gauges. Google it - there's a youtube vid of how to use it too.
