They're has been previous problems with pug fobs playing up.
I had problems on a 106, that despite lighting up and with a fresh battery, refused to operate the locking.
Turned out to be some dry joints on the board inside the keyfob.
But I'm sure it affects infra red keyfobs and not the FM ones.
Which type do you have?

Yeah I tried searching it as I've seen a lot of central locking problems but none of them seemed to help with this.
I'm not certain, how can you tell which type it is?

If its got 1 button and a infra red type LED sticking out the top near where the key comes out of the fob then its the infra red type.

Visit a pug dealer, they should have a infra red keyfob tester, ask them if there's a signal coming from it.

All infra red remotes can be tested with the camera on your phone. Even your tv or dvd remote , turn your camera on and point it at the tiny glass bulb on the remote and press any button on the remote and look at your phone screen. If it's working you'll see flashing on your phone screen.
