#1: 206 wont start, urgent help please! Author: frenchfrog40, Location: MaidstonePosted: Mon Jul 18, 2011 5:14 pm ---- My mates 206cc is currently sitting in my drive. hes had trouble starting it, hes had to keep the throttle down while turning the key. Now its not starting. Quite alot of smoke comes out from the left of the car when you look at the engine. This problem has only started since he got a new gearbox. We just got back from the pub and it started first time. He doesnt think its a fuel problem. Could it be as it started from cold at the pub but is now trying to start from hot? any help would be very helpful!

He said it was either a dodgy starter motor or they didnt connect the earths properly when they changed the gearbox. It started when AA man was in the middle of checking the battery though so he didnt have to do anything.
