any tips on how to get the dent out?

Im thinking lack of insurance had something to do with it.

Plus i had her plates, it has been reported to the police im waiting back to hear from them.

The police rang me the same morning to tell me that they had contacted her and she has 14 days to contact me or she will be prosecuted.

Just wait for the police now. Like it has been said, it is an offence to fail to stop and exchange details at the scene of an accident.
Make sure you claim the £3.75 back from her too that it cost you to check the MID. No point being out of pocket for everything.

Police just told me the car is not registered or insured, and the best they can do is put a marker on it.
